CMM Programmer

1st (M-F) 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Pay: $20 - $23/hr (dependent on experience)

Creates the specific CMM programs based on the customer CAD, blueprints, or specifications

Operates the CMM to complete measurements and inspections as needed

Dimensionally inspects product to specified tolerances using fixed or variable measuring instruments for daily production

Performs measurements to complete Initial Sample Inspection Reports for new product PPAP packages

Compares product samples and masters to ensure conformity to customer specifications

Performs yearly layouts of product on the CMM as required by customers

Measures any internal tool or die components as needed to maintain production equipment and customer owned tooling

Documents inspections in an accurate and neat manner. Maintains applicable record retention per the QMS.

Communicates ideas on inspection techniques, tool adjustments and product specified requirements to improve the organization and aids in problem solving activities.

Provides expert support in blue print reading analysis and inspection techniques.

Supports corporate and department goals and objectives

Assists with any quality department tasks as needed (i.e. sort, rework, inspection).

Responsibilities:

Authority to reject parts if product does not meet specifications and or customer requirements

Responsible and accountable for the CMM calibration, performance and routine upkeep

Responsible for performing internal gage calibrations and maintaining the Gagetrak calibration system


Requirements:

High school education or equivalent

5 years quality inspection experience with CMM responsibilities and Quality Assurance experience

Extensive experience and knowledge of mechanical blue prints, geometric dimensioning, tolerances, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, dial indicators and electronic data input devices. Extensive experience in operating a CMM machine.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and suppliers.

Thorough knowledge of statistical process control and ISO9001:2008/TS 16949 requirements

Good computer skills

Strong shop math skills

High level of analytical and problems solving skills

Good time management and prioritization skills

Willingness to learn and apply new skills necessary to meet internal and external requirements and changing technology.

Ability to move up to 35 pounds
