Process Engineer

Recruiting Solutions has an exciting opening for a Process Engineer with a global manufacturing client located in the greater Columbia area. This essential person will be responsible for the startup operations of a new product line. This will require hands on mechanical aptitude for equipment and process setup. This person will oversee the overall operation of the new line which includes, but is not limited to, establishing work instructions, Bill of Materials, utilizing SAP, training operators and support personnel, product quality with familiarization with prints, drawings and standards.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

  1. Train all operators assigned to the manufacturing Cell in order to make quality parts in a safe fashion, using rotary pleaters, bar pleaters, thermal seamers, hot melt glue systems, two part urethane potting systems, spot welders, sheet metal rolls, hot melt seamers, sewing machine seamers, ink jet marking systems, and manual packaging systems.
  2. Hands-on work to supervise and help run the manufacturing cell, including being able to diagnose setup problems and make corrections as needed.
  3. Be able to diagnose and make minor maintenance repairs.
  4. Help plan work schedule and parts sequencing in order to maximize efficiency and minimize setup changes.
  5. Supervise operators assigned to the manufacturing Cell and assign work to meet scheduling requirements

Knowledge and Skills requirements

  • A minimum of 5 or more years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Engineering or Technical degree strongly preferred.

  • Must be fast paced, hands-on, production oriented, safety conscious, and be able to make independent decisions based on relevant information.
  • Prefer experience setting up and running media pleaters and glue or urethane feeding systems.
  • Prefer some electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to effectively supervise others.
  • Must be able to use manual gages, such as scales, templates, and calipers
