Human Resource Generalist

Recruiting Solutions is currently hiring for a Human Resources Coordinator for a reputable manufacturing client in the Columbia, SC area. Job Description:

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment and on-boarding process for all new employees. Also responsible for coordinating and managing temporary labor workforce for production as well as other administrative tasks in the Human Resources department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the most cost effective means of recruitment for all positions
  • Coordinates the advertisement of open positions through internal postings, internet, employment agencies, recruiters and affirmative action required agencies
  • Reviews resumes and screens candidates to ensure required qualifications are met; coordinates and schedules interviews with the hiring manager
  • Administers required testing of potential candidates to include criminal background checks, drug screens, physicals and aptitude/skills testing
  • Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation
  • Prepares and processes new hire paperwork
  • Acts as the liaison to outside staffing agencies and universities and represents the company at career fairs and other community events
  • Works in collaboration with temporary agencies to staff, on-board, schedule and monitor temporary workforce including timecard approval and agency billing
  • Maintains applicant tracking in compliance with affirmative action regulations
  • Maintains monthly and annual reporting and compliance of the company’s Affirmative Action Plan
  • Recruits for and manages the company’s internship program
  • Processes employment verifications
  • Organizes on-site random drug screens
  • Organizes company’s special events
  • Maintain employee uniform orders and distribution
  • Maintain employment files and records per company policy and legal regulations
  • Provides coverage for the security officer including lunch relief Monday through Friday
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical information, compensation and all other employee personal information
  • Understands compliance and proper interpretation of various state and federal regulations/laws

Qualifications:

  • Four year degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in recruiting and human resources
  • Manufacturing experience and knowledge of Affirmative Action regulations is preferred
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks with minimum supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to interact well with employees, candidates, vendors and co-workers, demonstrating flexibility as well as a "can-do" attitude when faced with a challenge or sudden change
