Job Description

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Technician is responsible for the timely payment of company debts as approved by management, accounts payable tracking, billing and the filing of various state and/or local tax forms.

*** 6-12 month assignment ***

Essential Functions:

Maintain and keep current the payment of company liabilities
Invoice entry and payment of all company purchases
Submit state forms for Fuel Taxes, Mill Assessments, Pesticide License and Tonnage reports
Assist in the Calculation, Filing and Payment of various taxes
Answer incoming calls as necessary
Assume weight master and scale duties as needed
Balance and track related GL, & CIP accounts
Required Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: Minimum of 2 years experience in related fields. Must be computer literate.
Minimum Experience required: 2 years in Accounts Payable
Skills Required:
Windows-based computer experience (would be ideal if the candidate had Microsoft Great Plains experience!)
Knowledge of accounts payable
Ability to work within strict timelines
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
