Summary: Responsible for machining of components using Davenport multi-spindle screw machines while following to all documented procedures, including safety procedures. This position is also responsible for contributing to the improvement of safety, quality productivity and teamwork environment

- Produce quality parts and maintain production levels
- Set up and operate machine as needed
- Enter quality-related information into SPC
- Daily lubrication, cleaning out machines and chip removal for assigned machines
- Must know how to sharpen tools, troubleshoot machines, set speeds and feeds for proper materials and do minor repairs as needed
- The skill and ability to set up and operate multiple machines in the department working with minimal supervision

Education and/or Experience:
High School degree or equivalent.
Typically 2+ years of related experience.
Ability to read and write English to maintain records.
Ability to read and interpret ship drawings, process sheets, documents , operating
Strong math skills and the ability to read and analyze engineering prints
Other skills and Abilities:
Hands-on experience on Davenports or other Multi-Spindle screw machines producing quality machines parts.
Strong knowledge of and experience preforming setting up and operating a variety of Screw Machines
Ability to read and interpret measuring equipment such as gauges, blueprints, micrometers, calipers, depth and dimensional micrometers.
Must be self-directed and take initiative to learn new skills related to maintenance of assigned screw machines.
Mechanically and mathematically inclined.
Requires a basic understanding of how to use the tools required in the operation and maintenance of the screw machines.

The work environment consists of a standard factory environment. While preforming duties on the job the employee is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, oils and chemicals in a very loud factory environment.
The employee will be using the Davenport machines, precision instruments, hand and fork lift trucks, scoops, weight scales and hoists.
