PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The General Laborer is responsible for overall warehouse assistance as it pertains to minor maintenance, janitorial, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assembles gaylords
• Performing debagging functions
• Maintain a clean work space
• Maintain a safe working environment; Observe all OSHA and Company safety policies
• Generate and identify Preventative Action Requests and Stop Stories
• Minor maintenance including but not limited to railcar washouts, rail line cleaning, equipment cleaning, general warehouse cleaning, minor painting of facility and equipment
• Assist other departments as assigned.

• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Minimum of GED preferred or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to maintain machinery necessary to perform a specialized task.
• Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
