Job Description

Employee Benefits Account Manager - 2 "Direct Hire" openings for a well-established insurance agency in the Portland metro area.  This position is hybrid, being in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Our customer has been in business since 1933 and prides themselves on providing competitive solutions through relationships built on knowledge, trust, and integrity.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build & maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering a culture of trust in Health & Life products.
  • Partner with Brokers to manage an assigned book of valued clients.
  • Assist in developing a Health Benefit Insurance Program, as well as proposals and presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Retention of existing clients and assistance with the onboarding of new clients, providing exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with agent to ensure the education of clients, recommending products/services to bridge any gaps in coverage.
  • Process renewals, working closely with assigned agent to remarket if necessary.
  • Coordinate and conduct client presentations, including open enrollment meetings, benefit fairs, and renewal presentations.
  • Provide claims, eligibility, billing and plan administration advocacy and resolution.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years' experience within an insurance related industry with an emphasis on Small Group Accounts under 50 employees or Large Group from 50 - 100 lives.
  • Required knowledge in medical, dental, disability, group life, disability, and Medicare.
  • Oregon Health & Life license.
  • Medicare Certification/AHIP preferred.  Must be willing to obtain within reasonable timeframe.
  • Experience with Applied, EASE, and Employee Navigator preferred.

Salary Range & Benefits:

  • $60k - $65k for Small Group and $65 - $79K for Large Group, dependent on experience, education, and role.
  • Paid CE training.
  • Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, PTO, paid disability and life insurance.
  • Hours are M-F with some flex within the core hours of 8:00 am-6:00 pm or as determined by Manager.
